Originally from the town of Añasco, Puerto Rico, and currently based in Tampa, Florida, Jezabeth Roca Gonzalez is interested in Puerto Rico’s ongoing colonial status within the United States. She utilizes video, performance, installation, and photography to address social and political themes of identity, borders and migration, power structures, memory, and home, which she approaches with both intimacy and tenderness.
