Shenequa Brooks, who goes by SHENEQUA, is a Chicago-based textile artist whose love for hand-weaving and fashion, and memories of doing her friends’ and sister’s hair when they were young, shaped a vibrant contemporary weaving practice centered around the tactility of hair.
