Dovetail Joins the Midwest Media Cohort

A grant from Arts Midwest
propels Dovetail into 2024

Hello, friends—

Dovetail is—and has been, since its founding—a labor of love. Along with its sibling Young Space, it is an incomparable way to learn about artists’ work around the world and to share it with others through writing, interviews, and commissioned stories. Globally-focused and proudly Midwest-based, I’m very happy to announce that Dovetail is a recipient of the inaugural Arts Midwest Creative Media Cohort Grant, which comprises $15,000 in funding to support a project of the magazine’s choice, plus networking opportunities with nine additional media outlets based around the region.

I’m humbled by the invitation to participate in this program, and it presents the opportunity to put the magazine back into print—which is where it began, and where I’ve always wanted to see it return. Dovetail will soon be launching an open call for commissioned stories for the first in what I hope will continue as a series of gorgeous zines that put artwork, photographs, and original writing and ideas onto the printed page and into your hands.

I look forward to sharing more very soon, and thank you so much to Arts Midwest and to you, for your support! Learn more about all of the participating organizations on Arts Midwest’s website.
