Dovetail accepts submissions of work from visual artists and craftspeople who feel their work aligns with the overarching theme of place.
That can mean many, many things. That said, Dovetail typically does not cover NFTs, AI-generated art, or mass-produced items for sale like toys or plastic things. We love anything that is handmade, ideas upon ideas, tie-ins with nature and the world around us, tie-ins with other creative endeavors, experimentation, alternative education and display, residencies and reasons to travel, artist-run culture, and more.
Submissions are considered for articles, social media posts, and future projects. Artists working anywhere in the world in any media type are eligible to apply. It is free to submit your work.
Fill out the form below to share your work with us. Important: As a visual arts publication, good images are essential. Please submit high-quality JPEG or PNG images that are minimum 1500px wide.
All submissions are reviewed throughly, and if it is a good fit for Dovetail, you will hear back from us. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to every one, so if you do not receive a response, please do not resubmit the same work. If your work is selected, it may take several days to a couple of weeks to hear back from us, due to the volume of submissions and the publishing schedule. It’s recommended that you peruse some of the articles on the site to get an impression about the types of work and ideas we like to cover.
There is no additional email confirmation after submitting this form. If you have any questions, please contact info@dovetailmag.com.
